I ended up making two cuffs from an entirely different piece of fabric than the one pictured in my previous post. I think that fabric will eventually become another cuff but I went back to using one of my most favourite backgrounds - silk paper. The theme chosen by Ali and myself for these pieces was Byzantium. I hope I have captured something of the richness I associate with Byzantium. The top and middle photos are of the finished cuffs and the third picture is the work in progress.

Wow, gorgeous! They look so rich and textured. I especially like the one with purple in it.
Wow Jan they are just beautiful!
I'd better get my skates on hey?!
They really are very jewel like in colours, and the textures are wonderful!
The stitching adds real power to the overall effect!
Work from home India
I love these!!!! I've been playing around with cuffs and this just inspires me more. I am curious what fabric(?) is on the top layer of the third (bottom) photo.
I've used silk paper so I wondered if the top layer is some sort of thin protectant?
They're beautiful!
